A U.S. Army veteran, community advocate, and small business owner, Ellen brings a passionate, people-first perspective to issues impacting Eastern North Carolina. As the owner of The Ell Hotel and a resident along the 15th Street corridor, Ellen blends local insight with a strong background in civic engagement and strategic communication.

She launched Wake Up Washington to help residents better understand the NCDOT U-5860 project—the proposed widening of 15th Street—and to give voice to the hundreds of neighbors working together for safer, smarter development.
